Oracle®

ISSI, an Oracle® Business Alliance Partner for the past five years, develops and supports Oracle® systems to manage engineering and financial databases, and uses additional Oracle® tools to enable live retrieval of Oracle® data from the World Wide Web.

About Oracle®

Oracle® leverages its technology in relational and object/relational technologies to provide for powerful database services in a wide variety of application areas. Oracle® data servers have the capability to allow whatever level of security and reliability is needed for applications to any number of users, over any type of network, no matter what hardware and software they use. Oracle® 8i, the latest generation of the Oracle® database, is designed specifically to be an Internet development and deployment platform.

NHTSA Data Center

For the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Data Center, ISSI has designed, developed and continues to support several Oracle® databases of automotive crash test data. Using Oracle® tools (Designer 2000, Developer 2000 and Oracle® 8i) and third party products (JAM v7 Forms for Windows, XVT GUI Toolkits), ISSI develops and supports applications to load and analyze engineering data for use by data collection contractors and NHTSA research engineers. ISSI has also developed and continues to support applications to publish the Oracle® crash test data on the Web for access by the public, including insurance interests and automobile manufacturers. These applications provide appropriate security to ensure that only data ready for public access is available to the public.

US Coast Guard

ISSI provides Oracle® database administration for the National Pollution Funds Center (NPFC) of the U.S. Coast Guard. This includes all phases of Oracle® database administration and operations support including system configuration, report writing and monitoring system performance. ISSI also provides applications integration support for Oracle® Financials and specialized Oracle® applications supporting the NPFC mission.

GSA TOPS

For the General Services Administration (GSA), ISSI provided nationwide Telecommunications Ordering and Pricing System (TOPS) application maintenance, enhancement and operational support, system documentation and database testing. The TOPS application encompasses a decentralized architecture. Multiple super-minicomputers running COBOL applications use the central Oracle® database engine. In addition to application support, ISSI also provided systems administration and database administration of the development and configuration control platforms.

CARS

ISSI designed and developed the Compliance Automated Reporting System (CARS) in Oracle® for the Associate Administrator for Safety Assurance of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This client server system includes hundreds of on-line edit checks and data validations, numerous script files, multiple reports and a GUI for SQL queries by novice users. For database administration, ISSI used a variety of Oracle® tools to maintain the system configuration, to tune the database performance, to track system security, and to allocate storage space for data.
