Another day, another online hacker lacking self worth hacks a (female) celebrities iCloud and releases photos of them naked (haven’t we had enough, 2016?) Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale was the latest young woman in Hollywood to have her privacy stripped and private content displayed. Rather than force out a fake apology about “disappointing her fans”, our girl published a message that summed up all of our thoughts about vile internet trolls.
“Well, I wasn’t going to comment on something so ridiculous, but since 2017 is gonna be all about speaking my truth...I’m going to say something. Once, again, a woman in the public eye was violated, stolen from, and her private life and body were exposed for anyone to see,” Hale began her statement, posted to Twitter. Hale then pulled a Queen Bey and said she, in fact, was not sorry.
“I will not apologize for for living my life and having a personal life that is mine. It’s truly unfortunate that being exposed in this way is allowed.”
Hale ended her message by thanking her fans and supporters, and sent a special little message to the hacker. “Thank you all for the sweet, supportive messages I’ve been receiving. It was a much needed reminder that I’m surrounded by so much love. I appreciate you all very much. And to whoever did this...kiss my ass.”
Amen, Lucy! We hope her hacker receives deserved jail time, as notorious celebrity hacker Ryan Collins did. Collins is currently serving 18 months in prison, and the celebrities he exposed are continuing to slay with their heads held high. We have no doubt Hale will do the same.
