mission + ethics

What is your mission?

We aim to create underwear that champions and supports bodies throughout different stages of life. From your first period to post-menopause and all the leaks in between.

We aim to empower our customers with sustainable solutions while breaking taboos around bladder leaks and menstruation.

Is your underwear ethically manufactured?

We craft our underwear carefully and consciously, from sustainable manufacturing processes to ethical working conditions. We’re proud to work with MAS, a global leader in ethical manufacturing based in Sri Lanka. MAS operates under three pillars: products changed for good, our planet changed for good, and lives changed for good.

What is body literacy?

Body literacy is understanding the body and its functions, so that we can be more empowered when it comes to our health and wellness.

Without body literacy, there is a rise in misinformation, stigmas, and shame around our bodies and its normal functions.

At Thinx, we believe in challenging societal stigmas and giving more people access to body education. That’s why we created GetBodyWise.

What is menstrual equity?

Menstrual equity refers to equal and comprehensive access to menstrual hygiene products and the right to reproductive health education.

Thinx actively supports menstrual equity by offering educational content and partnering with like-minded organizations to bring leak protection products to communities that need them most.

Through our GetBodyWise program, we're working to fight societal stigmas and help empower more people with body literacy.

about our brands

What is Thinx?

Thinx Inc. is another iconic brand under the Kimberly-Clark family of brands. Together our family of brands (Thinx, Thinx Teens™, and Thinx for All Leaks) is committed to empowering *every body* with innovative solutions and social change.

What's the difference between Thinx period underwear and Thinx Teens™ period underwear?

Thinx and Thinx Teens are washable, reusable period underwear. Our newest styles absorb up to 12 regular tampons for all-day leakproof protection for up to 12 hours. Each pair is moisture-wicking, ultra-absorbent, and leak-resistant.

Our teen period underwear is available in standard youth sizing to fit younger bodies and in full-coverage styles to support first and early periods. Thinx adult line is available in sizes up to 4X and in various underwear styles to meet your preferences.

What's the difference between Thinx period underwear and Thinx for All Leaks bladder leaks underwear?

Thinx and Thinx for All Leaks are reusable, absorbent underwear designed to replace disposable products. They absorb leaks, help control odors, and wick away moisture to help keep you dry and comfortable.

They look and feel like regular underwear, so you can wear them, wash them, and wear them again. Thinx absorbs period flow, while Thinx for All Leaks is underwear designed for light bladder leaks.

Which brand do I need if I have bladder leaks and my period?

We specifically designed Thinx for All Leaks to tackle the pH and viscosity of bladder leaks, which is lower than that of menstrual flow.

If you experience light incontinence and your period, Thinx for All Leaks would be your best bet to prevent all your leaks. We don't recommend using Thinx period underwear to protect against bladder leaks.

Why does Thinx underwear cost more than disposables?

Our undies are machine washable, reusable, and absorbent — there's *a lot* of science and development that goes into making them and ensuring they last. Replace them at 30 washes as a reusable alternative to single-use period products.

Is it safe to wear Thinx underwear?

Thinx underwear is safe. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS, are absolutely not part of our product design and we do not treat our finished products with PFAS. We also take measures to help ensure these substances are not added to our products through material, design, production, facility, and supplier controls.

We care deeply about the materials used in our products, putting comfort and safety at the core of our design, development and manufacturing.

How is Thinx Inc. underwear tested?

You deserve period and bladder leak products that give you the most comfort physically, mentally, and emotionally.

All underwear in the Thinx family of brands has been certified based on the rigorous chemical safety requirements of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® [20.HUS.04850 | HOHENSTEIN HTTI] since 2020 and now complies with the even more stringent OEKO-TEX® 100 Class II, Annexure IV, which includes meeting the requirements for Europe’s Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) [20.HUS.04850 | HOHENSTEIN HTTI]. Thinx underwear is not made with PFAS.

We also test our finished products for product safety through an accredited, globally recognized third-party laboratory to help ensure they are compliant with all laws and regulations.

Thinx is a member of the Apparel and Footwear International RSL Management Group (AFIRM) and aligns with the AFIRM restricted substances list (RSL) for suppliers of raw materials. We also require suppliers of our raw materials to sign a Supplier Code of Conduct and Chemical Supplier Agreement confirming compliance to the AFIRM RSL including the AFIRM restrictions on PFAS.

Why does Thinx Inc. underwear cost more than disposables?

Our undies are machine washable, reusable, and absorbent — there's *a lot* of science and development that goes into making them and ensuring they last. Replace them at 30 washes as a reusable alternative to single-use period products.
