the Thinx commitment to product safety

At its core, Thinx Inc. was founded with the purpose of providing safe, comfortable, and sustainable products for people with periods and bladder leaks. Customer safety has always been critically important to us, and so is your trust. That’s why we believe in being transparent about how our products are made.

how we help to ensure Thinx underwear is safe to wear

All underwear in the Thinx family of brands is independently certified through OEKO-TEX® 100 Class II, Annexure IV, which includes meeting the requirements for Europe’s Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) [20.HUS.04850 | HOHENSTEIN HTTI].

Thinx is a member of the Apparel and Footwear International RSL Management Group (AFIRM) and aligns with the AFIRM restricted substances list (RSL) for suppliers of raw materials. We require suppliers of our raw materials to sign a Supplier Code of Conduct and Chemical Supplier Agreement confirming compliance to the AFIRM RSL, including the AFIRM restrictions on PFAS.

we take a rigorous approach to product design, development, and manufacturing

  • Product Design & Specifications

Materials have specific product requirements and are carefully selected and procured to help ensure product effectiveness.

  • Supplier Code of Conduct & Chemical Supplier Agreement

Raw material suppliers are OEKO-TEX® certified and attest that specific chemicals are excluded from sourced goods for Thinx. Suppliers are qualified and approved for use.

  • Inspection of incoming components

Production materials must comply with manufacturer agreements and product specifications. Incoming inspections are performed on components prior to acceptance for use (e.g., fabric, trims, elastics, packaging).

  • Manufacturing partners adhere to FDA registered facility requirements

The finished goods manufacturing facilities that we use are FDA registered & ISO 13485 certified. We seek to select manufacturers who are industry leaders with chemical management practices to help reduce human and environmental impact.

  • Finished Product Evaluations

As appropriate, we conduct material evaluations at 3rd party labs according to recognized standards.

  • Inspected prior to shipment

As required by FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), every production batch goes through finished product inspections. The inspection process checks the garment specifications, overall quality, packaging, and labeling information.

how does Thinx underwear work?

All Thinx underwear is intrinsically absorbent. The product performance is achieved through our 3-layer construction and fabric, designed to pull fluid away from the body and help capture it.

  2. 2. Absorbent layer: this fabric provides additional absorbency capacity and helps capture liquids.*

  3. 3. Moisture-impermeable layer: this polyester material has a polyurethane coating designed to help prevent fluid from passing through the layer.

*Agion®, an EU regulated odor control treatment using silver zeolite and silver copper zeolite, is also applied to this layer.
